Been Busy!

Sorry i havent updated the site ive been busy with the book so i havent been uble to update this blog but here is some news that isnt so good :-/
The release date for the sixth Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, has been pushed back to July 2009 from its original slot in November 2008.

The eight-month change in the opening date to July 17, 2009, is expected to disappoint millions of Harry Potter fans around the world who have already been waiting more than a year to watch the next big-screen installment in the international literary and film phenomenon.

Trailers for Half-Blood Prince began running last week in advance of the expected November movie release worldwide.

Warner Bros., a unit of Time Warner Inc , said it had decided to make the change to bolster its release schedule for the lucrative summer moviegoing season - a period that can account for as much as 40% of Hollywood's annual box office receipts.

Warner Bros. President Alan Horn said the studio was also still feeling repercussions from the three-month Hollywood screenwriters strike that ended in February but has "impacted the readiness of scripts for other films."

"We know the summer season is an ideal window for a family ... release, as proven by the success of our last Harry Potter film, which is the second-highest grossing film in the franchise, behind only the first installment," Horn said.

The studio said the change of date would not alter production plans for the final, two-part Potter movie adventure, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. The release date for part one is tentatively set for November 2010.

Deathly Hallows, the seventh and last story from British author J.K. Rowling about the boy wizard and his friends at Hogwarts School, was published in July 2007. The series has sold an estimated 400 million copies, and the books have been translated into more than 60 languages.

Royals To Be At HP6 Premire!

The Royal and European premiere screening of the sixth installment of the Warner Bros. Pictures Harry Potter film franchise based on the beloved novels by J.K. Rowling, will take place on Monday 17th November 2008. It is unclear as yet which member of the Royal Family will be present.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is directed by David Yates and produced by David Heyman, the producer of all of the Harry Potter films, together with David Barron. Screenwriter Steve Kloves, who scripted the first four installments of the film franchise, is adapting the screenplay based on the book by J.K. Rowling. Once again heading the cast, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are reprising their roles as young wizards Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, who are facing new challenges and dangers in the wake of Lord Voldemort’s return. They will be reunited with returning Harry Potter cast members, including Helena Bonham Carter, David Bradley, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Tom Felton, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, Maggie Smith, Natalia Tena, Julie Walters and David Thewlis, as well as Evanna Lynch, Matthew Lewis and Bonnie Wright.
Two award-winning actors are joining the film’s all-star cast in their first Harry Potter film: Academy Award winner Jim Broadbent as Potions Professor Horace Slughorn, and award-winning actress Helen McCrory as Narcissa Malfoy, mother to Draco Malfoy and sister to the evil Bellatrix Lestrange. Additionally, several young newcomers will be making their feature film debuts in the film: Jessie Cave as Lavender Brown; nine-year-old Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Tom Riddle at age 11; and 16-year-old Frank Dillane as the teenage Riddle, who is already on the path to becoming the evil Lord Voldemort.
Warner Bros. Pictures presents a Heyday Films production, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released on November 21, 2008, by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
David Murrell, President of The CTBF said:
"We are delighted to have Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince premiering at our most prestigious fundraising event, The Royal Film Performance(tm). The Harry Potter series is a perfect example of great British filmmaking and we are grateful to Warner Bros. for its support. With its help we are going to make this event a spectacular fundraiser for the CTBF and continue our lifeline of support for people behind the scenes in the world of film, television and cinema."
Josh Berger, President and MD of Warner Bros, UK, said:
"We are honoured that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, one of the most anticipated films of the year, has been chosen as the 61st Royal Film Performance. Directed, filmed and produced in the UK with a hugely talented, and largely British cast and crew, it is particularly fitting that this Warner Bros. film will help raise funds to support those from the British film and television community most in need."
David Heyman added:
"I am delighted that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has been chosen for this year’s Royal Film Performance. We have always endeavoured to remain true to Jo Rowling’s vision in recreating the magic of her world and we have been overwhelmed with the continual support of audiences. And thus, we are thrilled that our film is being honoured in this way and will help to raise money for such good causes."

WHAT'S YOUR STORY? by J.K.Rowling

All but a handful of the 10,000 copies of What's Your Story? sold within hours of going on sale on Thursday, with customers at Waterstone's booksellers limited to two copies each.
The world's richest author tantalised fans by describing her 800-word submission was not a self-contained story but a section of narrative "from a prequel I am not working on". The story, set in the 1970s, features Harry Potter's father and friend Sirius Black travelling on a magic motorbike.
The collection, which also includes work from Margaret Attwood, Irvine Welsh, Sir Tom Stoppard and Nobel laureate Doris Lessing, sold for £5 a copy in aid of Dyslexia Action to mark the National Year of Reading.
Waterstone's said the book would not be reprinted, turning copies into a collector's item - although none have yet appeared on internet auction site Ebay.
The quick sale is unusual for the short story genre, which traditionally sell fewer copies than writers' full-length novels.
Four postcard-sized stories by winners of a similar competition for booksellers complete the collection.
JK Rowling's story is set three years before Harry is born and features the characters Sirius Black and James Potter, Harry's father. The story opens with a youthful Sirius and James cornered by two irate policemen at the end of a high-speed motorcycle chase. After a cheeky exchange with the policemen, the two teenage characters make their escape - using broomsticks, "drumsticks" and just a little bit of magic.
A handwritten and signed copy of Ms Rowling's entry sold for £25,000 at a charity auction at Waterstone's last month. The card finishes with the handwritten words – "From the prequel I am not working on – but that was fun!" and JK Rowling's signature, dated May 2008.
